Episode 14 A spoken, shortened version of My Story
A survivor of child sexual abuse, or csa, shares some of her story of abuse and its impacts, also therapy, reporting to the police and recovery.
This is a shortened, spoken version of My Story, which has been on this site since the beginning.
This spoken version was recorded during a training session for Safeline counsellors, which was hosted by Meena Kumari of Hope Training. This took place earlier in 2021, and is the first time that we have recorded it. I had the intention of using my answers for a blog, but decided that I would publish most of the recording in three podcasts, this being the first.
I have had the privilege of doing several of these sessions over the past five years. I share my story and we then have a Question and Answer session, where the counsellors can ask me anything about my experiences, therapy, reporting to the police, strategies for coping.
These are the three podcasts of the questions:

There is also a podcast where I am in conversation with Beth from Safeline, about The role of an ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Adviser)
The journey to recovery from child sexual abuse is long and painful. However you choose to find support and help on that journey, it is worth it. There is hope for recovery.
